Climbing and mountaineering belong to the oldest sports in the Zillertal.
No wonder that the Zillertal, and especially Mayrhofen with its mountaineering village Ginzling and countless 3000ers, made its name early on as a mountaineering destination.
Via Ferrata - the new trend in alpine sport - now hikers can also get a taste of the verticles, with the appropriate equipment. These so called „Via Ferratas“ are paths in rocky sections secured with wire cables and iron rods.
Levels of difficulty range from A (easy) to E (extremely difficult), there are four via ferratas to climb in the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region. Enjoy this unique alpine experience.
